WASTE AND RECYCLE COLLECTION SCHEDULE

All 96 gallon Roll Carts for trash will have a Brochure/Flyer attached with information pertaining to requirements for COSM Trash Collection Details/Instructions.

ROLL CART PLACEMENT
Below are instructions and diagram for proper placement of trash and recycling roll cart containers
- Place each container 1-4 feet from curbside.
- Place each container a minimum of 6 feet from each other.
- Place each container a minimum of 6 feet from any obstacle that is in your yard (mailbox, fence, telephone pole, etc).
- Do not place containers under low hanging tree limbs or power lines/obstacles.
- All lids should be closed with no trash/recyclables hanging out.
- Nothing can be placed or located within 6 feet behind the container.
- Front of container facing the street – handle bar facing home or business.
- Keep the curb and street at your residence/business clear of parked cars, boats, etc. on trash day.
- Contractor-furnished Roll Carts only.
Trash (1 x wk) and Recycling (Every other week) will be collected on the same day.
RECYCLING INSTRUCTIONS
Below are instructions and diagram for proper recycling:
- Place recyclables loose in cart. DO NOT BAG.
- No glass, plastic bags, plastic wrap, or pet food bags.
- No trash in cart, including food and liquids.
- No tissue, paper towels, or personal hygiene products and latex.
- Contractor furnished 64 gallon roll-cart only.
- No additional roll-carts allowed.
Recycling (Every other week) will be collected on the same day as trash.
YARD WASTE PLACEMENT
Below are instructions and diagram for proper placement of yard waste:
- Placed near street/curbside on city right-of-way.
- Back side of yard debris pile 8 feet maximum from curb.
- Piles should not exceed 5 cubic yards.
- Limb and leaves are not required to be bagged.
- Logs over 6 inches in diameter must be cut into 4 foot lengths (without branches).
- Branches over 4 inches in diameter must be cut into 8 foot lengths.
Yard waste will be collected once per week.
YARD WASTE refers to grass, weeds, leaves, tree and shrubbery pruning, and other similar materials generated in the maintenance of lawns and gardens which are separated from other solid waste.
DOES NOT include construction debris, concrete, tree stumps, batteries, liquids, pesticides/chemicals, liquid paint, helium/propane/gas tanks, motor oil/filters and other vehicle related parts, or hazardous materials.
Community yard waste pickup areas are allowed if approved by City of St. Marys and Cumberland Services.
Cumberland Services is NOT responsible to collect yard debris generated by a landscape/tree contractor or commercial lawn maintenance contractor working at resident’s property. Cumberland Services is only responsible to pick-up yard debris generated by resident.
